Introduction to the Phanteks Eclipse P400S Tempered GlassP400S Tempered Glass Edition
When putting together a gaming Pc, we have to consider buying a good case to house our newly bought components. A Pc case is an important Pc part because you want to make the building process easier and provide good airflow for your components.
Phanteks has innovated by launching their Phanteks Eclipse P400S Tempered Glass(TG), which brings you a great variety of features for a very lucrative price point of 80,18 pounds.
The Phanteks Eclipse P400S Tempered Glass is, indeed, the best case you can get for under 100$. It comes in two versions: The P400 is the standard version while the P400S builds on better acoustics, making it more soundproof, with the “S” standing for “silent”.
Let us take a look at the specs:
The Phanteks Eclipse P 400S is a Mid-Tower case. It supports all motherboard sizes (ATX, MicroATX, MiniATX and E-ATX). The case has room for 7 expansion slots total, 6 HDD bays as well as 2 SSD bays.
The case supports up to 3x 120mm cooling fans a the front or 2x 1400mm ones.
2x fans are supported for top mounting either 120mm or 140mm.
At the rear, there is support for 1x 120mm fan. 1x 120mm is already installed at the front and 1x at the rear of the case. There is also room for a 360mm radiator for AIO liquid cooling at the front, but it requires the removal of the mid plate cover.
The Phanteks Eclipse P400S Tempered Glass provides excellent airflow even with just the included fans. By installing the front fans as intake and the top and rear fans as exhaust, you ensure good air circulation, which will provide enough cooling capacity for your GPU and CPU.
Graphics card: 395mm
CPU Cooler: 160mm
Cable Management: 25mm
Power Supply: 270mm
The clearance is pretty good as you can add even a beefy GPU cooler without issues. Even the NH D15, the largest CPU cooler on the market, will fit nicely into the Phanteks Eclipse P400S.
The Phanteks Eclipse P400S comes
equipped with removable dust filters at the top and front. It also comes with an easy to remove dust filter for the power supply. While dust filters will effectively reduce the amount of dust entering the case, remember that the positioning of the fans can also have a huge effect on dust accumulation, depending on negative or positive air pressure.
The Front I/O features 2xUSB 3.0 connections, a headphone, and mic port as well as a power and reset button and an easy-to-use led control button.
Internal RGB Lighting is supported with the inclusion of an RGB Led Strip, from which you can choose between 10 different colors. The led control button lets you easily navigate
between the different color options and adjust colors according to your preferences. The RGB Led Strip is pretty easy to install and gives off vivid colors, which enhance the case’s visual appeal.
Tempered Glass Side Panel
What really puts the Phanteks Eclipse P400S Tempered Glass ahead of its competition is its included tempered glass side panel. It can easily be taken off by removing the four screws that are holding it in place. The side panel covers the entire case and gives you a clear look at the case’s interior. You can clearly see the inside of the case and the included RGB led strips look amazing when viewed with the side panel on. The only negative aspect of tempered glass side panels is that they can break with no effort, so you should be careful when you have to move your Pc or do work inside your case.
The Phanteks Eclipse P400S Tempered Glass includes a PSU cover for the protection of your Power Supply. The case features a full metal body layout, which indicates the build quality of the case.
Phanteks has really made it simple when it comes to cable management, with the inclusion of velcro cable ties and plenty of ways to drive cables to the case’s back. The additional clearance of 25mm especially designed with cable management in mind and
the space at the bottom( behind the power supply) to store your cables make cable management pretty easy.
You can choose from a variety of colors. Available colors are:
The Phanteks Eclipse P400S Tempered Glass is an excellent case in every aspect. While not being a truly “budget” case with a price point of around 80 pounds, the case is still an amazing deal if you consider the additional tempered glass side panel, the PSU cover as well as space for cable management and the ease of it with the inclusion of velcro cable ties which can be used over and over again. Additionally, Phanteks includes RGB led strips and an RGB Led Control Button, which can easily be accessed at the front of the case.
The Phanteks Eclipse P400S is a close competitor to the NZXT S340 Elite but, in my opinion, is the winner here due to its included tempered glass side panel and the RGB support. Overall, this case is a must buy for Pc builders who do not want to spend a fortune on a Pc case, but, at the same time, do not want to miss out on any premium features and great aesthetics. The 5-year warranty shows that Phanteks is confident that their case is built with quality and longevity in mind.
